This latest evolution of the Calidus series is powered by the groundbreaking Rotax 916 iS engine, delivering an impressive 160 horsepower and achieving a remarkable top speed (Vne) of 225 km/h (140 mph or 120 KIAS).
With its streamlined aerodynamic design, the Calidus 916 iS is built for speed and efficiency. A newly expanded 100-liter fuel tank extends its flight range to a substantial 650 kilometers, making it an ideal aircraft for long-distance cruising.
This next-generation model also features a host of upgrades and optional enhancements, including:
- A higher canopy option, offering 150mm (6 inches) of extra headroom for added pilot comfort
- Variable heat controls, seat warmers, and lumbar support
- Integrated windshield demisting system
- Advanced pneumatic components
- Updated rotorhead and pre-rotation system
- Choice of 4-blade HTC or electric constant-speed Woodcomp KW31 propeller
- Full Night VFR equipment
- Garmin G3x glass cockpit, with options for Garmin, Trig, or Funk radios and transponders

Weighing in with a maximum takeoff mass of 560 kg and an empty weight as low as 310 kg, the Calidus 916 iS also boasts an impressive engine TBO (Time Between Overhaul) of 2,000 hours.
